      EO is one of the simplest cyclic ether,it is a colorless gas at ordinary temperature,a colorless and flowing liquid when the temperature is below 10.7℃.It has a smell of ethyl ether.Its vapor is irritant to eye and nasal mucous ,easy to mix with water,alcohol and ethyl ether.It has a very active chemical propetry,can react with many chemical compounds to form a explosive mixture with air,the explosive lmit is 3%-100%(Volume).EO is a high toxic material ,the allowed concentration in air is 100ppm.Narcotic toxicosis will occru when breathing EO.EO is a synthetic intermediawith a wide usage.It can be mainly applied to produce ethylene glycol,also ethanolamines,ethers,nonionic surfactants,anti-freezing agents,plasticizers,additives,perfumes,high energetic fuel,propellants and etc.
